Dear Concerned Individuals,

There has been movement since my last post:

I am writing to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation to two remarkable individuals, Jon Hamdorf and Marie Zimmerman, representing UCare, a Minnesota-based company. Their incredible generosity and commitment to our cause here in Kansas have significantly impacted our efforts.

I am thrilled to inform you that Jon Hamdorf and Marie Zimmerman, through UCare, have donated a minimum of $200,000 to support our mission. Their contribution will enable us to take significant steps toward addressing the challenges posed by the 29th and Grove Contamination Site. With their support, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by this issue.

It is heartwarming to witness such acts of kindness and compassion, especially from a company based in Minnesota. Their commitment to our community speaks volumes about their dedication to improving lives and creating positive change.

We are deeply committed to providing comprehensive screenings to individuals who may have been exposed to potential health risks due to prolonged exposure. While community funds specifically allocated for this purpose are still being pursued, we are actively pursuing opportunities to ensure that the screening services are accessible to affected individuals without any out-of-pocket costs. We understand the financial concerns associated with seeking medical assistance and greatly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work toward securing all the necessary resources (phase one screening).

In the interim, we encourage you to consult your Primary Care Provider if you require guidance or support in seeking screening services. However, for those who do not have a Primary Care Provider, we would like to extend our assistance and offer ourselves as an option to consider.

Rest assured that we are diligently working to gather the information required for the screening process. When asked to provide details such as insurance information, we kindly request your cooperation. Your cooperation will enable us to streamline the process and promptly respond to your needs.

Should you have any questions, concerns, or require further assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to provide support and guidance during this challenging time, and we remain committed to your well-being.

Once again, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Jon Hamdorf, Marie Zimmerman, and UCare for their extraordinary generosity and support. Together, we will overcome the obstacles we face and create a safer and healthier community for all.

Sincerely,

Venus Lee
